## Overview Unlock Protocol is an open-source smart contract protocol built on Ethereum that enables creators, communities, and organizations to issue onchain memberships and subscriptions. Rather than relying on centralized payment processors or traditional subscription platforms, Unlock allows anyone to deploy their own membership contracts directly on the blockchain, where membership status is recorded as an NFT (non-fungible token). This approach eliminates intermediaries, gives creators full control over their membership logic, and creates a transparent, portable record of subscriber rela
